FAQ

WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED DOSE?

We recommend a dose of 10-20MG for our oral products. However, if you’re new to supplementing with cannabinoids we recommend starting with half the recommended dose and working your way up. If you don’t feel anything (something we like to call total body calm) (you’ll know it when you feel it) after a couple weeks, try increasing your dose by 10MG until you find one that works for you.

Heads up: full spectrum hemp + CBD supplements are not one size fits all so a dose that works for someone else may not work for you.

OK BUT AM I GOING TO GET HIGH?

Sorry! SUPERGOOD products and CBD Cocktails served at The Nickel will not get you high.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

Again, that depends on a number of factors – what you’re treating, how depleted your endocannabinod system is, etc. Some people see results immediately while others won’t see results for up to 12 weeks of consistent use.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TAKING HEMP SUPPLEMENTS?

Unfortunately the FDA doesn’t like when supplement companies make unsubstantiated health claims so we’re going to stay away from discussing that. But we will say this: the whole point of supplementing with cannabinoids is to aid the body in finding and maintaining balance.

Head this way to peep our Q+A with Gretchen Lidicker (bona fide CBD expert and author of CBD Oil: Everyday Secrets).

Here are some of our favorite cannabis resources from around the WWW:

HempsleySativa Science Club, and Project CBD.

THE HEMP

The hemp is grown outdoors in Colorado using organic practices. Once harvested, our extractors take the flowers (not the seeds or stems) (contrary to popular belief you cannot extract cannabinoids from either of those things unless you’re processing the hell out of them) and process them using food grade ethanol (grain alcohol). Compared to C02 and fossil fuel extraction, ethanol extraction is much more gentle on the plant and – because of that – we think it’s superior to all other extraction methods. Even better? Ethanol extraction also exacts the terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, and minerals – meaning there’s so much more to our full spectrum products than just CBD (which is great, but there are a lot of other beneficial compounds in cannabis, too).

The extracts are analyzed at third party test facilities for their cannabinoid profile as well as pesticides, volatile organic compounds, heavy metals, mycotoxin, and bacterial/microbiological contaminants.

THE OTHER INGREDIENTS

You know, like the turmeric and the black pepper and the MCT oil.

We source USDA certified organic ingredients wherever we can. Not necessarily because we think they’re better for you or your health (the debate is still out on that), but because organic agriculture is much more gentle on the planet (can you tell we’ve got a thing for being gentle?).

Currently, our USDA certified organic ingredients are:

Turmeric, MCT oil, black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, coconut milk powder,  and vanilla bean.

We are 100% committed to using the highest quality ingredients we can get our hands on and we only purchase our ingredients through trusted suppliers.

THE TESTING

Once our products are formulated, they go to third party labs for testing to ensure 1) they’re safe for consumption and 2) the potency we’re advertising is within the +/- 15% variance* we allow. Because of this allowable variance, we provide consumers with the the actual potency of each of our products. For instance, we advertise our capsules as being 1000MG CBD but – with the allowable variance – the actual potency could be as low as 850MG or as high as 1150MG (we always aim to be + and never -).

Due to the lack of testing requirements on the hemp side of the cannabis industry, we adhere to many of the testing standards put forth in Colorado’s retail marijuana rules (rules with which we are very familiar). This is not something we are required to do but something we think is of utmost importance given the loose regulations surrounding testing on hemp products. At the end of the day, these rules exist for a reason: to protect you.

*This is the same variance that is allowable by Colorado’s retail marijuana rules.
